Northside Cherokee breaks ground on new medical facility

Northside Hospital Cherokee recently broke ground on a new six-story, 150,000-square-foot medical office building that will expand access to outpatient care in Cherokee County. The new facility will include physician practices and services such as cardiology and pulmonary care, bariatrics, general surgery, orthopedics and sports medicine, ear, nose and throat, and primary care.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, CEO Billy Hayes reflected on the hospital’s growth since 2004, when there were about 80 physicians and 200 employees, compared to more than 1,500 physicians and 4,000 staff members today.

Developed in partnership with Realty Trust Group and Healthpeak Properties, the project marks the largest medical office building Northside has built in the past decade. The facility is already fully leased, signaling strong community and physician support.

Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2027.
