Northside Hospital Gwinnett is one of 10 hospitals in the State of Georgia that is designated as a Level II Trauma Center. A trauma center at a hospital has teams of trauma surgeons and other specialists that provide care 24/7 and handle the most severely injured patients within the “Golden Hour.” This is the first hour after the traumatic injury has occurred and skilled intervention begins, and often means the difference between life and death or life-long disability. Our trauma program averages more than 1,900 trauma patients a year.
